- Cremant de Bourgogne, Maison Simonnet-Febvre (€28.00): Crémant from Burgundy, made in the traditional method like Champagne. Fine bubbles and ripe yellow fruit for the welcome toast and canapés.
- Paddy Borthwick Sauvignon Blanc (€20.00): A textured, mineral Sauvignon Blanc from Martinborough in New Zealand’s Wairarapa. Bright with smoked salmon, prawns and starters.
- Martín Códax Albariño (€19.00): Crisp, aromatic Albariño from Rías Baixas in Galicia, with citrus, green apple and a fresh, saline finish. Lovely with seafood chowder, oysters, prawns and smoked salmon.
- Domaine Bousquet Malbec (€20.00): Certified organic, high-altitude Malbec from the Uco Valley, Mendoza. Juicy plum and blackberry fruit for roast beef, glazed ham or a festive Wellington.
- CONDE VALDEMAR GRAN RESERVA (€22.00): Classic Rioja Gran Reserva of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo, long-aged in oak. Spice, cedar and creamy depth for turkey, roast lamb and rich stuffing.
- Grahams 10yr Tawny Port (€40.00): A Port aged in oak for an average of ten years: nutty, toasty and smooth. Made for Christmas pudding, mince pies, cheese and the fireside.
A wine for every course
Aperitif: open the Crémant de Bourgogne as guests arrive. Starters: pour the Paddy Borthwick Sauvignon Blanc and the Martín Códax Albariño with smoked salmon, seafood and salads. Main course: serve the Conde Valdemar Rioja Gran Reserva and the Domaine Bousquet Malbec with the turkey, ham or beef. Dessert and cheese: finish with a glass of Graham’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port.
