Wairarapa Elegance
While Marlborough often steals the spotlight for New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, the cooler Wairarapa region (home to Martinborough) produces wines with incredible depth, texture, and minerality. The Paddy Borthwick estate is a master of this terroir, producing a Sauvignon Blanc that is both elegant and intensely flavourful.
In the glass, it shows a pale straw color with green highlights. The nose is highly aromatic and complex, offering a beautiful blend of ripe passionfruit, white peach, melon, and signature herbaceous notes of fresh-cut grass and snow pea. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a slightly richer texture than a standard Marlborough Sauvignon. The tropical fruit flavours are vivid and juicy, supported by a distinctive, stony minerality and a long, crisp, zesty finish. A brilliant pairing for fresh seafood, asparagus dishes, or roast chicken.
