Three regions, one grape
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is the most popular white wine in Ireland, and it is not all the same. Marlborough (Stoneburn, Walnut Block) gives the punchy, tropical style that made the country famous. Nelson (Rabbit Island, Old Coach Road, Aotea) is sunny and coastal, with juicy, bright fruit. Martinborough in the Wairarapa (Paddy Borthwick) is cooler and gives more texture and minerality. Taste them side by side and find your favourite.
Food pairing
Serve well chilled at 8-10°C. Perfect with goat’s cheese, seafood, fish and chips, Thai green curry, salads, asparagus and herby chicken dishes, or simply as an aperitif.
