Description
Dark, Rich, and Heavenly
As one of the core offerings from the Koningshoeven Abbey, La Trappe Dubbel is a benchmark for the traditional dark Trappist style. Brewed with dedication and centuries-old monastic tradition, it is a beer designed for contemplation and comfort.
This Dubbel pours a deep, gorgeous ruby red with an ivory-colored foam. The nose is rich and inviting, dominated by sweet aromas of dark caramel, roasted malt, and dried dark fruits like raisins, dates, and figs. On the palate, it is remarkably smooth and medium-to-full-bodied. The flavor mirrors the aroma, bringing forward a delicious, bready malt sweetness that slowly gives way to a subtle, balancing hop bitterness and a whisper of peppery yeast spice. It is a fantastic accompaniment to hearty stews, roasted meats, or a rich chocolate dessert.
