Sicilian Warmth and Spice
Nero D’Avola is the undisputed king of Sicilian red grapes, thriving in the island’s hot, Mediterranean climate. Messer Del Fauno has crafted a brilliant, affordable expression of this variety, showcasing its signature dark fruit and subtle spice.
The wine pours a deep, dark purple-red. The nose is deeply aromatic, offering warm notes of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and a distinct, characteristic hint of liquorice and black pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with a soft, plush texture. The dark fruit flavours are rich and slightly sweet, balanced by very smooth, ripe tannins and a touch of warming spice on the finish. It is a fantastic winter warmer and pairs wonderfully with grilled red meats, lamb tagine, or rich tomato-based Mediterranean dishes.
