Description
The Quintessential Irish IPA
If Limeburner is the crisp, light entry point to Kinnegar’s range, Scraggy Bay is the bolder, punchier older sibling. This beer is widely considered one of the best standard-bearer IPAs in Ireland, offering a masterclass in balance and traditional IPA brewing.
It pours a beautiful, slightly hazy copper-gold with a thick white head. The aroma is an inviting mix of sweet caramel malt and vibrant, zesty hops, showcasing notes of grapefruit pulp, lemon rind, and earthy pine. On the palate, the term “snappy little biter” makes perfect sense. It leads with a smooth, biscuity malt sweetness that is quickly overtaken by a bold, resinous, and satisfyingly sharp hop bitterness. It finishes clean and dry, demanding another sip. It is an incredibly versatile beer, pairing brilliantly with everything from a hearty beef burger to a spicy Indian curry.
